Death Anxiety Scale for Pre-Surgical Patients

Objective: To develop a scale for assessing death anxiety in pre-operative patients.
 Study Design: Cross sectional study.
 Place and Duration of Study: District Head Quarters Gujranwala, Fazal Hospital Gondal Gujranwala Mayo Hospital, Lahore Pakistan, from Apr to Nov 2020.
 Methodology: Three hundred fifty patients were included the study. The one-factor solution was run on data as homogenous, multiple factors not elicited. severity level patients’ symptoms explored using subjective rating scale. developed scale's validity compared with translated Arabian version anxiety.
 Results: Varimax rotation scree plot showed that one component best fit indigenously each item Pakistani culture would face more psychosomatic rather than emotional ones.
 Conclusion: help manage pre-surgical patients' anxiety.
